Development
Anko Publishing Manager was written from the ground up to mirror the publishing process. However, we understand that not all publishers work exactly the same way and each client may have individual needs or requirements that simply cannot be met by a generic solution. In such circumstances we can offer bespoke development services whereby our developers modify or enhance the APM functionality.
Obviously, such decisions are not taken lightly since making bespoke changes to a generic product can complicate on-going support and future upgrades and it can work out to be expensive. Unfortunately, whilst we can spread the cost of the actual generic software development over many customers, having to put developer(s) in place to implement a unique one off project represent a direct cost to us which we must pass on to the client.
However, where bespoke changes are deemed to be of generic benefit we will add such functionality to the software so that other customers may benefit in future revisions. It is this on-going pooling of ideas that has informed the software over these last few years and have made it the powerful, intuitive solution that you see today and we hope reduced the need for future bespoke development.
Where a feature or requirement has to be implemente we charge a day rate (see the Pricing section) which is pro rated. Generally, we will review the requirements and give a work estimate for approval by the customer. If the fee is acceptable we would then invoice for fifty percent of the work in advance with the balance becoming payable on completion of the work.
